Anne McCaffrey Has Died

I ADORED her Pern books more than anything. Read a smattering of her others, but it was Pern with the dragons and thread and the mix of science and fantasy that really held my heart.

She will be missed.

And, yes, I'm crying.

Philip Jose Farmer died! His book Dare was one of the first SF books I ever read and enjoyed (despite the non-ending). I still have my original copy of it.

I never did manage to get to any of his other work, but Dare opened up whole new possibilities for me. Not that I can write SF so much, but the ideas are there.
